Stop wiring layers.
Start animating.
Kinektic is free 2D animation software that generates the tedious stuff — broken neon, torn paper, flickering lights — so your time goes into the frames, not the setup.
Procedural animation for motion graphics. No paywall, no subscription. Ever.

Procedural effects
Effects that build themselves.
Procedural animation means the look is generated from rules you set — flicker, tear, drip — instead of keyframed by hand. Pick an effect, turn the knobs, done. Watch the engines in motion below: they run the same logic the app uses, and every motion graphics effect stays editable — tweak a control and the whole thing regenerates.
Neon Text
Flickering tubes, broken characters, hanging cables — generated per letter, not rigged by hand.
Torn Paper
Procedurally torn edges with shape and tearing amount per edge. Reroll for a new tear, same paper.
Paint Splatter
Impact splats, drips and spray — spread, gravity and splat count are just sliders.
Lightning
Branching bolts with controllable chaos, glow and strike timing. No hand-drawn frames.
Inside the app
The setup work is the app's job.
Knobs, not layer stacks
One effect, a handful of honest controls. Turn 'Broken letters' on or off — there is no precomp to dissect.
Stays editable
Procedural means regenerable. Change a parameter and the effect rebuilds itself — nothing gets baked into a dead layer pile.
Animator-first defaults
Every engine ships with looks that already read well, so a first pass is minutes, not evenings.

A real build of the interface — still taking shape in public.
Build in public
Watch it get built. Then use it for free.
Kinektic is free animation software developed in the open — devlogs, effect breakdowns and demos, posted as it grows. When it ships, nothing goes behind a paywall: no watermark, no subscription.
